How to take care of your newborn’s umbilical cord when it falls off

  The detachment of the umbilical cord in newborns requires special care and attention, as it can cause infection if it hurts the baby, and requires gentle movements, not rushing or touching with hard objects.  Depending on the condition of the baby, the umbilical cord usually starts to detach on its own after 2 days after birth, and it usually detaches completely in about 15 days. Pay attention to your tummy not to get cold and do a good job of keeping it warm. Do not use creams, lotions or talcum powder to wipe the umbilical cord root, as it will not dry easily or even lead to infection. Baby umbilical cord care requires disinfection work is very important, you can take a normal bath, but pay attention to more observation to avoid the occurrence of umbilical infection, causing the condition to deteriorate and cause harm to the baby’s body.
