Minimally invasive buried wire effectively controls myasthenia gravis

Muscle atrophy is a reduction in muscle size caused by dystrophy of the transverse muscle and the thinning or even disappearance of muscle fibers. The main causes are: neurogenic muscular atrophy, myogenic muscular atrophy, disuse muscular atrophy and other causes of muscular atrophy. In addition to the pathological changes in muscle tissue itself, muscle dystrophy is closely related to the nervous system. Spinal cord disease often leads to muscle dystrophy and muscle atrophy. Patients with myasthenia gravis are bedridden for a long time due to muscle atrophy and muscle weakness, and are prone to complications such as pneumonia and decubitus ulcers, plus most patients develop symptoms of medullary paralysis, posing a great threat to patients’ lives. Muscle atrophy after fracture is usually caused by long-term braking of the affected limb, resulting in disuse muscle atrophy of the lower extremity and a decrease in muscle strength, so further treatment is needed to restore muscle strength after fracture healing. The fracture of the lower extremity is treated to achieve normal healing, which usually requires 4-8 weeks of clinical fixation, and the patient is bedridden during the treatment period. Although internal fixation or special brace fixation can be used for early functional exercise activities, because the lower extremity cannot bear weight or exert force, disuse muscle atrophy of the lower extremity will inevitably occur. Avoiding the occurrence of disuse muscle atrophy and shortening the recovery time of muscle strength is one of the important issues to improve the quality of treatment of lower limb fracture diseases. Acupuncture treatment can prevent and treat muscle atrophy. Our clinical application of the combination of minimally invasive buried wire and electro-acupuncture has effectively controlled the degree of muscle atrophy and significantly shortened the recovery time of muscle strength, with satisfactory results. Minimally invasive buried wire therapy is a kind of acupuncture therapy that uses disposable minimally invasive buried wire needles to implant biodegradable materials into specific parts of the body or acupuncture points to treat diseases through the long-term effect of the materials on local or meridian points. In the minimally invasive buried wire therapy, the use of disposable buried wire needles for buried wire, no surgery, the use of modern biomedical materials, with convenient operation, treatment safety features. According to the theory of “treating impotence only by taking Yangming” in the Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine, acupuncture treatment is mainly based on Yangming meridian points, taking Shoulder Calvary, Quchi and Hegu to unblock the meridian qi and regulate qi and blood; taking Neiguan and Quze to unblock the sympathetic yin meridian qi; taking Houxi and Carpal Bone to unblock the sun meridian qi; taking Foot Sanli and Sanyinjiao to benefit the back heaven qi. The auxiliary points of the Directing Vessel will invigorate Yang energy, and the back points will regulate the internal organs, so that the fluid and blood will have a source of production, the tendons will be nourished, and the atrophy will be recovered.
