“Parkinson’s has plagued more than 2 million middle-aged and elderly people in China. Although Parkinson’s disease cannot be cured at present, rehabilitation exercises can help patients to control the disease. Before starting the rehabilitation exercises, please put a rug, a pillow and a chair on the floor. Please note that if you have severe arthritis and pain, or have had knee or hip surgery within the last 6 months, do not do the following exercises. Step 1: Make sure you can move your knee normally before you start training. Place the knee on the side that is more affected by the condition on the floor. Step 2: Then, place the other knee on the floor. Step 3: After kneeling on the floor, move the knee backwards in sequence. Enable the upper extremities on both sides to brace on the floor in a crawling position. Step 4: Move backward to the position where you are ready to lie down. Make sure there is enough room to stretch your legs and arms. Step 5: Slowly lower one hip to the floor in a semi-sitting position. This movement may stretch the body a little too much, but as long as you do not feel pain, you can continue. Before proceeding to the next movement, make sure you can stand up. Step 6: Lower your body completely, flip onto your side on the floor, and rest your head comfortably on a pre-prepared pillow. Prepare to begin the exercise again. At the completion of the above exercise, if you feel slightly dizzy, get up slowly. Rehabilitation exercises should be done consistently, preferably once a day for 30 to 40 minutes each time, and the time can be adjusted according to the patient’s physical condition. In addition, it is recommended that Parkinson’s patients walk at least 500 meters a day or participate in sports such as swimming, badminton, tennis and cycling, all of which can help Parkinson’s patients restore the function of the affected limbs and help them further recover their motor functions, strengthen their ability to take care of themselves and reduce the burden on their families.
