The pneumonia vaccine is required for children. In China, there are two main types of pediatric pneumonia vaccines, the 13-valent pneumonia vaccine and the 23-valent pneumonia vaccine. The 23-valent pneumonia vaccine is intended for adults over the age of 2 years and covers a wider range of pneumococcal serotypes, and has most of the effects of preventing serious pneumococcal infections. Therefore, both pneumonia vaccines are recommended for children.
