How many times a day do you take hypertension medication?

The number of times a day for hypertension depends on the type of medication and blood pressure chosen by the patient, as follows: 1. If the patient chooses short-acting antihypertensive drugs such as nifedipine, nimodipine, or captopril, take them orally at least 3 times a day; 2. If it is a long-acting antihypertensive drug such as enalapril or nifedipine extended-release tablets, take them orally 1-2 times a day. After applying one antihypertensive drug, if the blood pressure is still high, another antihypertensive drug can be used in combination. If the blood pressure still does not reach the standard after the combination of two antihypertensive drugs, three, four or even five antihypertensive drugs can be used in combination. The selection of antihypertensive drugs should be decided according to the patient’s age, renal function, and the presence or absence of a history of pulmonary disease.
