What kind of patients with urinary frequency, urgency and incontinence are suitable for bladder pacemaker treatment

  1. Normal urinary storage function but frequent/urgent urination (wanting to urinate, frequent, small amount of urination, even once every fifteen minutes), or urge incontinence (involuntary urine leakage accompanied by a sudden violent urge to urinate). 2. Urinary malfunction: Difficulty in urination and urinary retention caused by bladder weakness or non-bladder outlet obstruction (excessive urine is stored in the bladder and overflows out; such patients have no sense of urination when their bladders are distended. There is frequent urination, but there is no feeling of urgency. Leakage of urine occurs continuously. (Urine often leaks out in small amounts during the day.) 3, chronic pelvic pain (such as interstitial cystitis ….. etc.) caused by difficulty in urination and fecal incontinence. 4. When the current treatment is intolerable for the patient to comply with or when the effectiveness of the treatment is reduced because of the side effects of the medication. Urge incontinence, urinary frequency and urgency syndrome, non-obstructive urinary retention, interstitial cystitis, chronic pelvic pain (pain around the vagina and urethra and perineal pain with urinary frequency and urgency) are good indications for bladder pacemakers.
