Severe chest and back pain? Be on the alert for aortic coarctation!

The aorta is the arterial backbone of the body’s circulation. The normal arterial vasculature is composed of three membranes, from the inside to the outside: the inner membrane, the middle membrane and the outer membrane. Under normal conditions, the three layers fit closely together and together they carry the blood flow through. The formation of aortic coarctation is caused by the blood flow tearing the inner membrane of the vessel, entering the middle membrane, and then breaking through the outer membrane, resulting in a life-threatening rupture of the vessel.
The normal width of the aortic vessel in the human body is 2.5 centimeters, while the width of the torn vessel has become 5 centimeters. The more the vessel swells the thinner the vessel wall becomes and the easier it is to tear, which is like a time bomb that could break at any time.
  Symptoms of aortic coarctation
If this disease starts from the heart aorta, it will manifest as sudden and severe pain in the forehead; if the blood vessel continues to tear, it will cause tearing-like pain in the back; further down, it will manifest as pain in the abdomen; if it tears the renal artery, it will cause kidney failure; if it blocks the large intestine artery, it will cause intestinal ischemia.
  Symptoms of aortic coarctation
  1. painful tearing.
  2. high blood pressure.
  3, pallor.
  4, cold sweat.
  5, shock.
  6.Organ ischemia.
Many people who have aortic coarctation have symptoms of tearing pain in the chest, so they think they may have a heart problem and take quick-acting heart pills.
If the aortic coarctation affects the coronary artery blood supply, eat quick-acting heart pills may have some relief; if it does not affect the coronary artery blood supply, eat quick-acting heart pills for pain is no relief, but quick-acting heart pills such drugs can dilate blood vessels, will make the blood pressure drop, for blood vessels is a protective mechanism, may make the blood vessels no longer continue to tear, the symptoms are relieved but will not soon be relieved.
Be alert to painless aortic coarctation
  1. immune system disorders.
  2. long-term oral hormone use.
  3. chronic alcohol abuse.
There are also some people who develop aortic coarctation who show no symptoms, but this is particularly rare. For example, some patients with immune disorders, their blood vessel walls themselves are particularly fragile and will be less responsive when the vessel ruptures; then there are some patients who drink a lot of alcohol, their pain sensation will be greatly reduced; also people with some congenital diseases, their sensation will be greatly reduced.
  Causal factors of aortic coarctation
  1.High blood pressure
Experts tell us that hypertension is the main cause of atherosclerosis. Atherosclerosis generally occurs between the intima and the middle layer, and once atherosclerosis occurs the blood vessels will become especially brittle. When the blood pressure suddenly increases, the intima will most likely tear, causing the blood flow to rush out of the intima and cause danger.
Some patients with high blood pressure take some antihypertensive drugs when their blood pressure is high, and stop taking them when their blood pressure is not high, which is an extremely wrong approach. Experts emphasize that the treatment of hypertension is ongoing for life, primary hypertension must take medication for life; unless it is secondary hypertension caused by other problems, when the problem is solved blood pressure back to normal can stop taking medication.
Reminder: hypertension must be regular, lifelong medication, and must follow medical advice.
  2.Atherosclerosis
Long-term high-risk factors damage the intima of blood vessels, and metabolic lipids are deposited on the intima. More and more deposited, the intima thickens and the blood vessels become very brittle. When the blood pressure suddenly increases, the intima and the middle layer will be easily torn, resulting in sandwich aneurysm. Therefore, it is very important to control blood pressure in daily life.
Tips to prevent and control hypertension
  (1) Low sodium diet Regular life.
  (2) Take medication on time Medication should not be stopped.
Reminder: When blood pressure is very serious, make sure to measure blood pressure regularly, three times in the morning, noon and night. According to the results of blood pressure measurement, the time to take medication to adjust the type of antihypertensive drugs, dosage usage, and remember to always follow medical advice.
  3. Genetic factors
Experts say that patients with genetic factors have congenitally weak blood vessels, and the most likely site for clamping aneurysms is in the thoracic aorta, which is close to the heart with high pressure.
  4.External force factor
In case of weakness of blood vessel wall, clogged aneurysm is also likely to occur under the stimulation of sudden force or trauma.
Therefore, some middle-aged and elderly people, especially those with high blood pressure, must usually work or exercise according to their abilities, and do the right things at the right age, not to defy old age to make fun of their bodies.
  Seize three opportunities
When aortic coarctation occurs, we must seize the opportunity to prevent the rupture of the blood vessel to death.
First chance: seek medical attention in the nearest emergency room.
  Second chance: recognize the symptoms.
Third chance: control the blood pressure.
