Gynecology for vaginal spasms how to treat

Vaginismus is a psychosomatic disorder caused by the fear of pain brought about by the penetration of the penis or other objects into the vagina, and is a kind of fear of sexual intercourse syndrome. It is often treated clinically with psychological counseling, pelvic floor massage, and pelvic floor electrophysiologic therapy.
In patients with vaginospasm, when imagining, anticipating, or in fact inserting a penis or other substitute into the vagina, the muscles of the outer 1/3 of the vagina, as well as the bulbocavernosus muscle, the superficial transverse perineal muscle, and the anal raphe muscle experience involuntary spasmodic contractions, which impede vaginal penetration. The spasmodic contractions of these muscle groups are very different from the rhythmic contractions that occur during orgasm.
1. Psychological counseling: Vaginismus may have more serious psychological effects on the woman and her spouse. Clinicians need to provide psychological counseling for women with vaginal spasms, so that women can understand the structure and physiological characteristics of the vagina and view vaginal spasms correctly.
2. Pelvic floor massage: after moistening the vagina with anesthetic for local anesthesia, pelvic floor massage can desensitize the patient and relieve the symptoms of vaginismus.
3. Pelvic floor electrophysiology treatment: Through electrical stimulation and other treatment methods, the muscles can be relaxed, thus relieving the symptoms of vaginal spasm.
If the symptoms of vaginismus are severe, or if the symptoms persist and do not improve, the woman should go to the hospital in time for treatment.
