What is the most important thing to do for patients with urinary stones?

As a doctor who has been treating urinary tract stones for 20 years, the most heartbreaking thing for me is to see a patient sacrifice his whole kidney because of a small stone in the ureter. Usually there are quite a few such patients, and this week I met two more, both of them are not too old, I really feel sorry for them! So I think I need to write something to give a warning to these patients, so that those who are lucky enough to read this article can avoid similar tragedies from happening again. Urinary tract stones can not be cured with the current methods of Chinese and Western medicine. The most crucial thing for patients is to protect their kidneys, don’t let a small stone block your kidney. Generally speaking, kidney stones do not easily block kidneys because they do not often cause fluid retention (with the exception of a very few kidney stones). It is often ureteral stones that block the kidneys. The first one is that the stone falls into the ureter and the patient has no symptoms. This is the most dangerous and hard to detect without regular physical examination, and it is also the most likely to block the kidney. Patients, will boil, and when they can not boil down the kidney has broken. The third situation is that the stones fall out of the urinary tract only as hematuria The cause of hematuria is very complicated, if the ultrasound can not accurately find the stones and keep looking for other causes without success, the kidney is also dangerous. We have come across a 1-year-old boy who came for stone fragmentation after repeated hematuria for 1 year and found a stone in the lower ureter. He had been looking for the cause of the recurrent hematuria in a provincial hospital without success, and even had an MRI done, just short of a kidney puncture (which was not done because the parents strongly disagreed). In fact, it was always the stones in the ureter that were responsible. So in summary, the most important thing for urinary tract stone patients is to find a professional ultrasound doctor to do ultrasound regularly. By doing so at least your two kidneys are safe. Don’t ever let yourself spoil your kidneys because of a small stone. You should know that kidney is the foundation of the firstborn!
