If internal fixation with a plate is required, it is usually considered when the fracture is significantly displaced or when the fracture end is easily dislocated after manipulation, and only then is surgical incision and internal fixation with a plate considered, but not all types of fractures can be fixed with a plate. If the fracture of the end of the finger or the distal end of the limb is difficult to fix with a plate, local fixation with a kerf pin is necessary. If the fracture itself is well aligned, or if it is a green branch fracture or incomplete fracture in children, it can only be fixed with a small splint or cast and does not require surgical plate fixation.
