When do I use ear drops and what are they?

For chronic purulent otitis media, the commonly used ear drops are topical ear drops containing antibiotics, including oclofloxacin ear drops and chloramphenicol ear drops. They are mainly used for patients who manifest local inflammation of the outer ear (congestion, swelling, pain, pus flow, etc.) and purulent inflammation of the middle ear (pus flow, running water, congestion). By applying ear drops, local bacterial infection can be controlled, inflammation can be eliminated, and the disease can be induced to enter a quiescent phase, facilitating conservative observation or surgical treatment at a later stage.
