When children begin to walk, shoes are actually not necessary, allowing children to walk barefoot or wearing only a pair of socks around the house is beneficial to foot growth, promote foot muscle development, and enhance the strength of the toes to grip the ground. As children’s feet grow, and their activities increase, the requirements for shoes become more apparent. Children’s feet grow rapidly, and in order to facilitate the growth of children’s feet, shoe sizes should be changed frequently. Please refer to the following when selecting shoes for your child: 1. Check the shoes: first of all, there should be a sturdy heel, and the inside of the heel should be made curved to accommodate the spherical shape of the heel, and should not be in the center of the shoe. 2.When trying on shoes, let the child stand up so that the weight of the child’s whole body acts on both feet. 3.The child’s feet should have some space to move inside the shoe. Generally speaking, the distance between the toes and the toe of the shoe should be 1/2 foot or a bunion distance. 4.Let your child try on the shoes with appropriate socks and, walk around the store for a few minutes to let your child feel if there is any abnormal pressure and any unusual stimulation. Then take off the shoes and check the child’s foot for abnormal indentation at each seam of the shoe. 5.The heel of the shoe should not be too slippery, and some high-top shoes or boots are better for preventing sprains in the foot and ankle. 6.The length of the two feet should be measured, if, when the two feet are not the same size, the choice of shoe size should be based on a larger one.
