Is Junctional Mucinous Tumor of the Ovary Benign?

Ovarian junctional mucinous tumor is a special kind of tumor between malignant and benign.
Ovarian junctional mucinous cystadenoma is a low malignant potential tumor, with a slow growth rate, usually large in size and often unilateral, which can reach more than 10cm, with smooth surface, ultrasound can show a multilocular mass, which is not easy to metastasize to other parts of the body, and its severity is in between that of ovarian cancer and benign ovarian tumors.
If it is considered as junctional mucinous cystadenoma, it must be actively treated with surgery, and the way of surgery should be decided according to whether the patient has the requirement of reproduction or not. If the patient does not have children, she will need to undergo a hysterectomy and double adnexectomy, as well as an appendectomy and salpingo-oophorectomy. In the case of women with fertility requirements, fertility can also be preserved.
Immunohistochemistry and pathological biopsy can be performed after the operation. If the disease is benign, no special treatment is needed at the later stage; if it is malignant, radiotherapy and chemotherapy are also needed.
It is recommended that the patient should consult the doctor in time and take active treatment so as not to delay the condition.
