In clinical work, we often encounter patients whose objective examinations suggest problems but are often reluctant to accept the presence of cardiovascular disease because of the lack of discomfort, and we often encounter friends who believe that the absence of cardiovascular disease is cardiovascular, but in fact these views are now very one-sided and outdated. The definition of cardiovascular health is not only the absence of disease, but also includes desirable health factors (blood pressure, blood sugar, blood lipids) and desirable behaviors (non-smoking, moderate exercise, reasonable diet and weight maintenance). So what are the specific indicators of cardiovascular health? According to the American Heart Association (AHA) cardiovascular health score, the ideal state includes these indicators: 1) non-smoking/quit smoking for more than 1 year; 2) body mass index (BMI weight kg/height m2) 25 kg/m2; 3) total blood cholesterol 5.1 mmol/L without medication; 4) blood pressure without medication 120/80 mm Hg; 5, starvation glucose value of 5.6 mmol/L without medication; 6, and ideal physical activity (≥150 min of moderate intensity exercise or ≥75 min of vigorous intensity exercise or ≥150 min of moderate intensity + vigorous intensity exercise per week). What is the current ideal cardiovascular health situation? According to China’s 2010 analysis of more than 90,000 cases of adults, China’s ideal cardiovascular health accounts for only about 0.2% of adults (men, 0.1%; women 0.4%), with the result that the lower these health scores, the higher the chances of suffering from cardiovascular diseases such as stroke and heart attack. Friends, control your mouth, open your legs, quit smoking, lose the meat, and strive to achieve the ideal cardiovascular health state, away from cardiovascular disease!
