In general, it is not advisable to take a bath immediately after acupuncture, and patients are advised to take a bath after 3-6 hours. Since acupuncture stimulates the corresponding acupoints, it will accelerate blood circulation and open the pores, so that the disease gas in the blood is discharged out of the body, so the patient needs to wait for the skin needle holes to heal before taking a bath, and it is appropriate to take a bath 3-6 hours after acupuncture, so as not to cause the patient to get infected and cold, which will affect the effect of acupuncture treatment, make the cold invade the body and aggravate the disease, and may also make the needle eye area infected. If the patient has a more sensitive body, or in the process of acupuncture treatment with gua sha, cupping, moxibustion, physical therapy, buried thread and other treatments, the time of bathing should be appropriately postponed. If there is more bleeding and larger scars during acupuncture, bathing should be taken after 24 hours as much as possible. In addition, patients should also pay attention to using warm water when bathing to promote blood circulation, dredge meridians and harmonize yin and yang, and pay attention to closing doors and windows to avoid catching cold.
