It is impossible to grow on a cleft lip and palate later in life. Cleft lip and palate are combined congenital disorders, and some patients have only a cleft lip and some have only a cleft palate. But regardless of the degree of cleft lip and palate, it is not possible to grow up once it is detected after birth. This is because the fusion of cleft lip and cleft palate occurs in the fetal period, that is, in the mother’s womb, and the fusion occurs very early. The normal fusion of the corresponding parts of the cleft lip and palate occurs in the first three months of the child’s life, and if there is no fusion in the first three months, the child’s cleft lip is visible on ultrasound, but the ultrasound is relatively poor for cleft palate. For cleft lip and palate surgical treatment is necessary and there is no way to heal completely by itself.
