How soon after birth is it best to have preoperative orthodontic treatment for cleft lip and palate?

Preoperative orthodontics is best performed immediately after birth for cleft lip and palate. This will most effectively stop the discontinuous perioral muscles from aggravating the cleft and nose deformity, and will allow the child to drink milk more normally. It also allows the defect to be concealed and, more importantly, parents are no longer at a loss as to what to do later. The previous orthodontic method cannot be started immediately due to technical conditions, but our invention of external paste nasal alveolar orthodontic device can be preformed, and we hope that it can be used directly in obstetrics in the future, like the cleft lip and palate bottle, to benefit the child in the first place. Of course, it is still important to come to our clinic to wear the treatment as early as possible now.
