Medical staff should take care to protect themselves

Last night on the night shift, our technician was checking the patient’s position when this patient suddenly coughed up a lot of blood, and the blood stream sprayed out, and the technician was too late to avoid it, and the blood sprayed the technician’s face. The technician was not wearing a mask at that time, but this patient was active tuberculosis, and the technician was a young girl, only 20 years old, who had not been injected with BCG, and the young girl cried tears at once. I quickly made remedial measures, but who could guarantee that she would not be infected? From this, I thought of the medical staff who were sick to save the patients, and a painful lesson came to my mind: Guo, the director of Luoyang Orthopedic Hospital, died of skin cancer after long exposure to X-ray machines for perfect fracture repositioning; Xu, the director of our brain surgery, died of leukemia after long exposure to X-ray machines for cerebral angiography; my classmate died of leukemia after long exposure to radiotherapy in the radiotherapy department. My classmate also died of leukemia after long exposure to radiotherapy in the radiotherapy department; our hospital director Yang died of hepatitis B after cutting his finger with a scalpel during surgery for a hepatitis B patient; during the SARS period, so many of our doctors died to save SARS patients ……. Too many vivid examples, too heartbreaking! Therefore, I call, the majority of medical staff in the active service for patients at the same time, we should protect ourselves, only to protect us, in order to better more for the patient service, because we do not only belong to themselves, but also belong to the family, society, especially the patient, only better technology, better body, we can better serve patients!!!
