Emergency: How to give first aid to a broken finger or limb?

It is inevitable to encounter accidental emergencies in life, and in the process of first aid for the injured, if there is a severed limb, it needs to be properly preserved and transported to the hospital with the injured person to maximize the chance of replanting the severed limb and finger for the doctor. Classification of the degree of limb severance 1.Complete severance The distal part of the severed limb is completely separated from the body without any tissue connection, called complete severance. 2.Large severance The limb local tissue has been mostly severed, and there is fracture or dislocation residual viable connected soft tissue is less than 1/4 of the total soft tissue of the section, the main blood vessel is broken or embolized, the distal side of the limb has no blood circulation or serious ischemia, not connected to the blood vessel will cause limb necrosis, called large severance. How to give first aid after limb or finger amputation? Amputation and finger replantation is an operation to reattach the severed limb to its original location and to regain blood flow to make the limb alive. After the finger is severed, the limb is still alive in the short term, although it loses blood nourishment, but after a long time, it becomes degenerative and rotten. It is very important to observe and take care of the severed finger after replantation, which is an important part of successful replantation. First aid methods: including hemostasis, bandaging, protection, storage of amputated limbs and rapid transportation, etc. If the amputated limb is still in the machine, do not forcibly pull the limb out or turn the machine upside down to avoid increasing the damage. You should immediately stop the machine rotation, try to disassemble the machine and take out the severed limb. The trauma can be compressed and bandaged with sterile or clean dressings. If there is large vessel bleeding, consider using a tourniquet to stop the bleeding, but mark the time on the tourniquet. In case of incomplete amputation, the broken part should be placed on a splint and fixed, and quickly transferred to a qualified medical institution for emergency treatment. Unless the severed limb is seriously contaminated, generally do not need to rinse, with sterile or clean dressing wrapped, available dry refrigerated method of preservation, that is, first into a plastic bag and then placed in a covered container, (emergency, home food preservation bags can also be used temporarily) the periphery to ice (if there is no ice for a while, it can be used instead of ice sticks) to preserve, do not let the severed limb and ice direct contact to prevent frostbite, and do not use any liquid Do not soak the amputated limb with any liquid. Alcohol can denature proteins, so it is absolutely forbidden to immerse the severed limb (finger) directly in alcohol. If you wish to rinse, only saline is available, without saline simply do not wash, the hospital will have a good cleaning steps, do not worry. Hypertonic or hypotonic solutions are harmful to tissue cells and can affect the survival rate of replantation, so they should not be used to soak or rinse the broken finger. When sending one at the same time as the injured person, make sure to instruct the receiving doctor where the severed limb and finger are located, and standardize the treatment as soon as possible, which is absolutely important for replanting the limb.
