How to perform functional exercises after finger replantation?

After birth, there are always minor or major problems, and the most common case is trauma, which can cause limb severance if it is serious, such as finger replantation is the most common case. Let’s learn about it together. The functional exercise methods are as follows: 1. On the 5th day after finger reimplantation, instruct the patient to actively exercise the wrist joint, the interphalangeal joint and the metacarpophalangeal joint of the healthy finger for 3 hours daily. 2.On the 14th day after surgery, the affected finger should do the exercise of lifting or holding the sandbag with the cooperation of the healthy finger, and the weight of the sandbag should be 50~100g. 3. On the 45th postoperative day, remove the kyphosis needle and perform active and passive exercises of the interphalangeal and metacarpophalangeal joints of the affected finger under the guidance of the rehabilitation therapist after 48 hours, with the speed of passive exercises being slow, gradually increasing the force and holding it for 10-20 minutes when the limit angle is reached, then slowly reducing the external force and so on repeatedly extending and flexing. The amplitude of the passive movement is from small to large, increasing daily or weekly. The active exercises of the affected fingers include activities of the metacarpophalangeal and interphalangeal joints in all directions, as well as palmar, finger-to-finger, fist grasping, fist releasing, etc. Auxiliary training of finger strength using tools such as leather stencils, screws and nuts for 6 hours daily. 4. On the 90th day after surgery, focus on training the flexibility, coordination and precision of the affected finger movements, such as patting, throwing, catching, throwing rings, using spoons, chopsticks, writing and combing hair, etc., and train the ability of both hands to operate together, such as tying and untying knots, typing and playing the piano, etc., for 4 hours a day. When the limb is severed, it must be timely to carry out the relevant protective measures, and then carry out the relevant treatment according to the situation, after the treatment must pay attention to the relevant functional training to avoid the emergence of joint function damage, if there is any situation, it must be timely review.
