How soon can you eat after a filling

How soon you can eat after a filling depends on the material used for the filling, usually you can eat after twenty-four hours. Filling is a filling treatment after tooth decay, the decayed part is removed with a drill, and then the filling material is selected according to the degree of tooth decay. In case of filling with glass ionomer, it takes twenty-four hours to chew. Because the glass ionomer will swell and change within twenty-four hours, and it will harden completely after twenty-four hours. Therefore, it is important to eat soft food for twenty-four hours after filling to prevent the material from falling off. If the filling is done after root canal treatment, it is also necessary to eat soft food twenty-four hours after the filling. Because the treated tooth is not nourished by the nerve, it becomes brittle and easy to split, so it is necessary to eat soft food after filling. If the tooth is filled without root canal treatment, it is a one-time direct nerve preservation filling. After filling, you should also pay attention to your diet, not to eat hot, cold, sour or sweet food to avoid stimulating the tooth nerve, and not to eat hard things to protect the tooth enamel from abrasion to avoid causing dentin allergy. If the filling is made with resin material, it will be hardened directly under ultraviolet light and can be eaten after filling. Therefore, you can eat 24 hours after filling and pay attention to oral hygiene.
