Primary hypertension is a syndrome in which elevated blood pressure is the main clinical manifestation, with or without multiple cardiovascular risk factors. The etiology of primary hypertension is not fully understood, and it is generally considered to be a multifactorial disease with a combination of genetic and environmental influences, but the influence of genetics on hypertension is significantly lower than that of lifestyle habits and environmental factors. More than 90% of patients with clinical hypertension are suffering from primary hypertension. Primary hypertension is a common and multifaceted disease, and is one of the greatest threats to human health. Approximately 200 million people in China suffer from hypertension. In the early and middle stages of the disease, symptoms of primary hypertension are often not obvious and not easily detected by people, while once cardiovascular and cerebrovascular complications appear, it is often difficult to control and cure. Hypertension is a major risk factor for coronary heart disease and stroke, and deaths caused by primary hypertension and its complications in China have jumped to the forefront of causes of death in the population in recent years. The ultimate goal of hypertension is to prevent the occurrence of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular complications. Therefore, early diagnosis and early treatment of hypertension is particularly important. Primary hypertension is a “lifestyle disease” and many daily behavioral habits are risk factors for the development of hypertension, which cannot be effectively prevented and treated without removing them. It is common for multiple people in the same family to develop hypertension, and this is strongly related to the same dietary habits and behavioral patterns of the family. The main risk factors for the development of hypertension in China include: high salt and low potassium diet, overweight/obesity? Excessive alcohol consumption? Chronic mental stress? Smoking? Insufficient physical activity, etc. The influence of lifestyle habits and environmental factors is closely related to the formation of hypertension, so attention should be paid to the prevention of related risk factors.
