puffy eyes

Swollen eyeballs generally refer to puffy eyelids, usually with very heavy fat at the upper eyelids, looking bloated, like they can’t be opened, common among Asians, and belonging to a relatively more common type of eyelids. The swollen eyelids are divided into fatty and edematous types: 1. fatty: usually the upper eyelid fat layer is thicker and more prominent, making the curvature of the eye exposed to the body not obvious, the eyes appear puffy and uninspired, and generally cannot subside immediately; 2. edematous: usually caused by staying up late, insomnia, fatigue or drinking a lot of water before bed, because the body’s water metabolism is less at night and too much water accumulates in the surface layer of the skin. The eyelid skin is the weakest and softest part of the body’s skin and the most lax subcutaneous tissue, where fluid is easily trapped, resulting in eyelid edema. This can be done in the following ways: 1. cold compresses: cold milk, cold tea bags, etc. can be applied locally to constrict blood vessels, thus reducing swelling; 2. massage: massaging the Zanzhu point (at the inner part of the eyebrow), the Miming point (the depression between the root of the nose and the corner of the eye), and the Pupil’s plexus point (located at the outer corner of the eye) can promote blood circulation around the eyes and help eliminate eye edema; 3. lifestyle habits: change bad habits, avoid drinking a lot of water at night before going to bed, and avoid sleeping prone so as not to bend the spine and increase the pressure on muscles and ligaments, resulting in facial puffiness. In the case of fatty swollen eyes, the problem of swollen eyes can be effectively solved by removing the prolapsed and bulging fat from the middle and inner part of the upper eyelid through upper lid debulking.
