Chinese medicine has great promise in the treatment of chronic cough

However, some people have a very stubborn cough that recurs for a long time, and with various tests and treatments by Western medicine, the cough is sometimes mild and persistent, which seriously affects the quality of life. Some of these coughing patients can cough when they encounter cold air, smoke, deep breathing, laughing, or inhaling irritants such as cigarettes or perfume, and in some cases, they can cough for more than half a minute in one breath. What is this? When the throat itches, there is a cough, which many people mistake for pharyngitis, but generally bronchitis has more phlegm and pharyngitis has more redness, swelling and pain. In Western medicine, chronic coughs are treated effectively after a clear diagnosis in a small percentage of cases through various tests. Most coughs cannot have a clear cause or have multiple causes acting together, and it is often difficult for a single treatment in Western medicine to be effective. This type of cough has been recognized by Chinese medicine for a long time. In the Treatise on the Origin of the Diseases, Chao Yuanfang of the Sui Dynasty first mentioned “wind cough”, describing it as a cough that prevents one from speaking because of the language. “Based on this theory, he also developed the Chinese patent medicine “Su Huang Cough Capsules”, which has been well received by patients. The wind in the six external evils of Chinese medicine, “wind, cold, heat, humidity, dryness and fire”, refers to all external evils with similar characteristics to wind. “Wind cough is one of them. To treat the disease because of the wind, we should treat it from the wind, dredging the wind and easing the airway when the main method, with ephedra to promote the lung to stop coughing and calm asthma; aster and wu wei zi to astringent the lung to stop coughing and dissolve phlegm, and to dredge the airway; with suzi and Qian hu to cooperate with ephedra to promote and lower the phase; with cicadas to strengthen the medicine to evacuate the wind, and to benefit the throat and relieve itching. If your symptoms are the same, not too heavy, you can drink your own Chinese herbal tea (licorice, chrysanthemum, umeboshi in appropriate amounts), umeboshi, which have the effect of evacuating wind, both have a slowing effect, umeboshi it also has an anti-allergic effect, you can also add some sweet raw licorice, raw licorice is also good for the throat, so for prevention, improve the airway is helpful.
