As a respiratory physician, the most common symptom is cough. I have written several short articles on cough treatment before, but I still feel that I have not finished. 1. Xuanfa: The physiological effect of lung qi passing through the muscular surface and the upper jiao like fog is called xuanhua. The congestion of lung qi arises from two aspects: one is the external evil that closes the muscle surface, and the other is the involvement of other organs in the lung, such as liver qi stagnation. In this case, the cathartic method should be used. Commonly used drugs: Radix Platycodon grandiflorus, Fritillaria spp. 2. Descending method: The inability of the lung qi to purge and descend and the upward rebellion will lead to coughing, which is different from the pathogenesis of lung qi not being declared. In externally induced coughs, the cough is often neither declarative nor descending, while in internally injured coughs, it is mainly liver qi and stomach qi that cause the lung qi to fail to purge and descend. Commonly used drugs include: suzi, almond, peach kernel, whirling daisy, bai qian, half summer, gua hua, betel nut, hou pu, sheng jin, scape seed, etc. 3, clearing method: clearing has the difference of clearing heat, clearing fire, clearing dryness, clearing lung, clearing heart, clearing liver, clearing gallbladder, etc.. Sweating method: This method is the method of relieving the surface, with the difference between pungent-warm and pungent-cool. Most of the coughs in superficial evidence are caused by wind-cold and wind-heat, so the sweating method is mostly based on dispersing wind. Commonly used pungent-warm remedies for relieving superficial symptoms are: thorny mustard, windbreak, orris, heliotrope, sophora, etc.; commonly used pungent-cool remedies for relieving superficial symptoms are: peppermint, burdock, mulberry leaf, chrysanthemum, cicada, etc. 9. Lower method: Chinese medicine believes that the lung and the large intestine are mutually exclusive, and that laxative stools can help to purify the lung qi, which can play a role in coughing caused by heat evils in the lung. The medicine can be used: Citrus aurantium, almond, lycopodium, rhubarb, etc. The use of the nine methods mentioned above should be prioritized according to the patient’s specific situation. A prescription is often several methods at the same time together. Therefore, we should be familiar with the scope of use of the nine methods, and at the same time to understand the changes in the internal organs of the human body qi, in order to be able to make use of the right and left to achieve good results.
