In recent years, the incidence of congenital heart disease (congenital heart disease) has been on the rise and has become the first disease with the highest incidence of birth defects in China. Currently, there are nearly 4 million patients with congenital heart disease in China, and about 130,000 new children with congenital heart disease are born each year. About 2 million children with precocious heart disease are waiting for surgery, and depending on their condition, the cost of surgery for precocious heart disease ranges from tens to hundreds of thousands of yuan, and about one-third of the children lose the chance to save their lives and do not live to be 20 years old. With the development of treatment technology, more than 90 percent of children with precocious heart disease in China can be cured through surgical treatment. For example, common ventricular septal defects, atrial septal defects, and patent ductus arteriosus can be surgically cured; even some complex congenital heart diseases can be completely cured through surgery. As long as the appropriate treatment opportunities can be grasped, interventional and surgical treatment of congenital heart disease can achieve more satisfactory results, and the child can regain his or her life. Therefore, precordial disease is a treatable cardiovascular disease with a good outcome. Shanxi Cardiovascular Hospital undertakes the Shanxi New Agricultural Cooperative and Aiyou Foundation’s treatment program for poor children with precocious heart disease, and provides free treatment for eligible children with precocious heart disease.
