Chen Pi does not control lipomas; treatment of lipomas usually involves surgical removal.
Chen Pi can regulate qi, strengthen the spleen, dry dampness and resolve phlegm (expelling dampness by drying dampness and resolving phlegm). It is used for distention and fullness in the epigastrium (abdomen), cough with excessive phlegm, and vomiting and diarrhea with little food, and has no efficacy in controlling lipoma. Caution should be exercised in taking Chen Pi in cases of Qi deficiency, vomiting of blood, and red tongue with little fluid, dry cough with Yin deficiency, and internal solid heat.
Treatment of lipoma usually involves surgery; if it is a relatively small lipoma without any symptoms, usually no treatment for the time being, if the lipoma produces compression symptoms causing swelling and pain in the affected area, it usually needs to be surgically removed.
Patients with lipoma should not blindly use Chen Pi for treatment, patients should actively consult the doctor, do not self-medication to avoid adverse results.
