Patients with acute abdominal pain should be placed in a flat bed position during the acute phase, and the patient should be advised to flex both lower limbs to reduce the tension of the abdominal wall and the impact of abdominal pain on the patient. During abdominal pain, patients should be advised to abstain from food and water, and if there is obvious nausea, vomiting and abdominal distension, a gastrointestinal decompression tube should also be placed in time to drain the digestive fluid from the gastrointestinal tract to alleviate the patient’s symptoms and prevent severe vomiting from inducing asphyxia. If fever is present, anti-infective treatment should be actively administered, temperature changes should be monitored, and blood changes should be monitored to guide the adjustment of clinical medications. If the patient has significant diarrhea, routine stool tests should be obtained to prevent abdominal pain due to infection or gastrointestinal bleeding.
