Common flu-like symptoms include muscle aches and fever. Preventive antipyretic and analgesic medication can be taken before interferon injection and again 6-12 hours later if flu-like symptoms persist without relief after injection. Drink plenty of fluids and stay well hydrated; dehydration can worsen flu-like symptoms. If necessary, contact your doctor for prompt medical attention.
