In general, tubular adenoma of the colon does not affect the survival period of patients and most patients survive for a long time. Tubulointerstitial adenoma is a common benign disease of the colon and can be completely cured by timely resection under colonoscopy. However, tubular adenoma has a potential for malignancy and is prone to recurrence. If a tubulointerstitial adenoma becomes malignant, that is, if colon cancer develops, this can affect the survival of the patient. The earlier the malignancy of tubular adenoma is detected and treated aggressively, the longer the patient’s survival period will be, with the 5-year survival rate of early stage patients reaching over 90%. Patients with colonic tubular adenoma are recommended to undergo colonoscopic resection of the lesion in a timely manner, and to follow the doctor’s instructions for review in the hospital after surgery to detect the recurrence or malignant change of the lesion in time.
