New coronavirus cough symptoms

Patients with novel coronavirus infection can have coughing symptoms, especially in patients with novel pneumonia, whose cough varies in severity, mostly dry, with little sputum and occasionally a little white mucous sputum, and some patients have a violent cough. When there is a mixed bacterial infection, the cough becomes more severe and purulent sputum can be coughed up, so it is important to pay attention to this and to review blood tests and chest CT tests as soon as possible. Cough is the main clinical manifestation of novel coronavirus pneumonia, but in mild cases, the main symptom may be low-grade fever and mild malaise without pneumonia, and there may be no symptoms of cough at this time. The degree and nature of the cough cannot determine the presence or absence of novel coronavirus infection, nor can it assess the severity of the patient’s condition. The patient’s clinical manifestations and relevant examinations, especially chest CT examinations, must be combined to assess the patient’s condition and guide the appropriate treatment.
