In early stage patients with novel coronavirus infection, the chest CT shows multiple small patchy images and interstitial changes, which are more pronounced in the outer lung zone. After the novel coronavirus is allowed to develop in the body for a period of time, chest CT may show multiple ground glass and infiltrative images in both lungs, and in more severe cases, substantial lung lesions and pleural effusions may be seen. It is not possible to identify novel coronavirus infection with the above-mentioned findings on chest CT, but it is necessary to combine the findings with other tests to make a comprehensive judgment.
