Auscultation with a stethoscope is an important basis for diagnosis of bronchitis in Western medicine. In general, bronchitis is an inflammatory disease of the airway mucosa with more mucus secretions. In the large airways, coarse dry rales can be heard, which can disappear after coughing. When watery secretions are trapped in small bronchi, wet rales can be heard on auscultation in the lungs. If there is bronchospasm, croup can be heard. Therefore, it is not difficult for an experienced physician to hear the presence of bronchitis with a stethoscope.
