Most laryngoscopies, as well as imaging tests such as X-rays and CT (computed tomography) scans, are performed for fish spikes in the throat, and blood tests are not always required. However, if complications arise from delayed treatment of a fish spike in the throat and surgery is required, routine blood tests may need to be taken before surgery is performed.
