The pathology report usually takes about 5 working days to be available. Pathological examination is mainly applicable when the nature of the lesion is not clear. Generally, after the lesions removed in surgery are sent to the pathology department, the pathologist needs to complete a series of ways such as tissue sampling, making thin slices, paraffin fixation, and finally making glass sections. Thereafter, the cellular characteristics of the lesion, and the relationship between the components and tissues need to be observed under the microscope to finally obtain accurate pathological results. Therefore, the work of the pathology department is very tedious, and each procedural step has a strict time limit, and the time required before and after is about 5 working days. However, for some difficult cases, the results need to be discussed by higher-level doctors or the whole department, and the time may be slightly extended. Patients and their families are advised to wait patiently and give the doctor sufficient time for diagnosis so that the most accurate results can be obtained to guide treatment.
