Is low blood pressure 50-80 serious?

Whether hypotension of 50-80 mmHg is serious or not needs to be judged based on the cause of hypotension and the presence or absence of symptoms. Hypotension is defined as blood pressure below the normal level, i.e., below 90/60 mmHg, and is divided into physiological hypotension and pathological hypotension. Physiological hypotension means that although the blood pressure value reaches the standard of hypotension, there are no other symptoms, except for low blood pressure, and there are no abnormalities such as ischemia and hypoxia in various systems and organs of the body. Pathological hypotension refers to diseases of certain organs or systems of the body that cause a decrease in blood pressure. Persistent hypotension will result in slow blood circulation and possible distal capillary ischemia, affecting the supply of oxygen and nutrients to tissue cells, especially affecting the blood supply to the brain and heart, and decreasing the functions of the body, which requires timely treatment. It is important to strengthen exercise in daily life, maintain a good mental state, drink more water, drink less alcohol, refrain from drinking caffeinated coffee and strong tea, ensure balanced nutrition, and monitor blood pressure regularly.
