How long does it take for a fetus to die if you can’t feel it moving?

If the fetus does not move for more than 24 hours after 20 weeks of gestation, you should consider that the fetus is suffocating due to lack of oxygen and may die in the womb. After 18-20 weeks of pregnancy, pregnant women usually feel their own fetal movement, of course, the time of self-recognition of fetal movement will be earlier for menstruating women and later for primiparous women. Before that, it is normal for pregnant women not to feel the fetal movement, so there is no need to worry too much. When the gestation week reaches 18-20 weeks, the frequency of fetal movement is about 3-5 times per hour, pregnant women need to pay close attention to the fetal movement of the fetus. If the number of fetal movements is less than 3-5 times per hour or the fetus cannot be felt for a long time, it indicates intrauterine hypoxia or even asphyxia. If the fetal movement is not felt for 24 hours, it indicates that the fetus may die in the womb. It is recommended that pregnant women should actively learn how to count fetal movements, pay close attention to fetal movements, and consult the obstetrics department when abnormalities are detected.
