What is the survival period for colon cancer that has spread to the abdomen and liver?

Colon cancer spreading to the abdominal cavity and liver is an advanced stage, and the natural survival period of patients is about six months to one year. Because colon cancer patients have long-term blood in stool, wasting or malnutrition, the cancer easily spreads to the abdominal cavity or liver, resulting in ascites, peritoneal fluid as well as decreased liver function and reduced albumin, thus easily leading to peritoneal fluid further aggravating the patient’s physical consumption. Therefore, the patient’s life expectancy is very short, with a natural survival period of about six months to a year. The main treatment at this point is palliative care or aggressive supportive care, best supportive care, and it is highly unlikely that the patient will tolerate chemotherapy or targeted therapy.
