New Concepts and Techniques for Removing Eye Bags

If you think about it, where does the fat in the eye bags come from? Some people say: that is to grow out, more out, take away no matter; later on someone else said: Oh no, that fat is from the eye socket run out, very important, can not take a little bit of it. Three years ago, I had the honor to see the Canadian Dr. Andre Camirand eye bags within the open back to push the fat literature, I have a heart! So gave up the bags of fat removal or fat transfer surgery, began to retain the bags of fat, push it back to the eye socket is mainly focused on the postoperative eyes to restore the fullness of youthful eyes, and do the capsule (Capsulopalpebral fascia) repair to fix the fat to prevent the bags of recurrence. Two years ago, a colleague’s husband was 36 years old and had obvious bags under his eyes, so he underwent a surgery to push back the fat under his eyes for the sake of aesthetics. After the surgery, he accidentally found that the problem of his eyes getting tired easily in the past was cured without any medication. In the past, he liked to read and study, and his eyes were so tired that he couldn’t stand it at 7:00 or 8:00 p.m., and he had to go to bed. But two years after the operation, he could read books in the middle of the night and his eyes were not tired. From this story, it was clear that the improvement of eye fatigue was related to the pushing back of the fat bags under the eyes. So we started to work on the theory of the overall structure of the eye socket, the cause of eye fatigue, and how to make the sunken eyeballs return to their original position after the fat is pushed back from the eye bags, and finally improve the eye fatigue. This theory has been tracked and almost coincides with what has happened to our 400+ patients who have had the surgery so far. Almost all of the patients’ eyes became bigger and brighter after the surgery (pre and post-op photos clearly show that the eyeballs moved forward), and about half of them began to feel sore and easily tired after the appearance of bags under the eyes. After the surgery, almost all of these patients experienced significant improvement, a result that was indeed unexpected! Normal eyeballs are supported by a tough suspensory ligament (Figure 1), women over 30 years old, men 40 years old (declining hormone concentrations); young ethnic groups overuse of the eyes (staying up late, looking at the computer for a long time, high myopia); eyeballs under pressure (large eyes, diving); so that the suspensory ligament relaxes, unable to support the eyeball, resulting in eyeballs sunken in (eyes become smaller). Once the eyeball is sunken back, directly oppressing the fat, the fat runs forward to form bags under the eyes (Figure 2). And the eyeball on the back, under the fat is really one, after the roller effect, the fat above, will be pulled down and form the upper eye socket depression. When the eyeball is in the normal position, the upper eyelid is maintained in a horizontal position with the metatarsal plates on the eyelashes leaning on the high side of the eyeball. When the eyeball moves back, the metatarsal plate will not be able to lean on the high point of the eyeball and will slide down, from which the upper eyelid and eyelashes will change from horizontal to vertical, making it heavy and tiring to open the eyes, and easy for the eyelashes to be inserted upside down when the eyes are closed. The muscles that rotate the eyes are mainly behind the eyeballs, and there are five straight muscles, also because the eyeballs are backward and become floppy and difficult to function, reading newspapers, reading computers at once will be too tired to stand.
