For general fractures, such as fractures of the spine or fractures of the upper or lower extremities, if the fracture has reached clinical healing after 2 months, it is possible to walk on the ground. However, there are two fractures that must be taken into account: 1) fractures of the femoral neck, which must be treated conservatively or with internal fixation with a threaded nail, can only be put on the ground 3 months after surgery; 2) collapsed fractures of the tibial plateau, which must be put on the ground 2.5-3 months after an osteotomy. However, for either type of fracture, a review of the x-ray must be performed before the fracture can be placed on the ground and a blurring of the fracture line, periosteal reaction or growth of bone scabs can be seen before the fracture can be placed on the ground.
