Colon cancer is a malignant tumor, with adenocarcinoma as the main histological type, among which tubular adenocarcinoma is the most common histological type of colorectal cancer, accounting for 66.9%-82.1%, including highly differentiated adenocarcinoma, moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma and poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma. The “c T4bN2M1” is the staging based on clinical information such as physical examination, endoscopy and imaging, and the TNM staging with the prefix “c” is called clinical staging; that is, the result is T4bN2M1 by combining the preoperative examination reports. What does “T4bN2M1” mean exactly? According to the American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC)/International Union Against Cancer (UICC) TNM staging system for colorectal cancer (8th edition, 2017): 1. “, which pushes backwards according to the expansion of tumor location, while “T4b” refers to tumors directly invading or adhering to other organs or structures; 2. “N” stands for regional lymph nodes, including “N” represents regional lymph nodes, including “Nx, N0, N1, N2”, which increases with the number of lymph nodes, while “N2” means that there are 4 or more lymph nodes metastasis in the region; 3. distant metastasis, including “M0, M1a, M1b, M1c”, “M0” means no distant metastasis, while “M1b” metastasis to two or more sites or organs, without peritoneal metastases. In summary, “T4bN2M1” actually means that the TNM is IVC and the stage is relatively late. In other words, colon adenocarcinoma tumor c T4bN2M1b represents a kind of advanced colon adenocarcinoma in combination with clinical related examination reports. This represents another advanced stage patient, which is a pity! The topic of colon cancer is not only young, but also “late stage”, which highlights the importance of “early detection, early diagnosis and early treatment”.
