Pediatric pulmonary fever and cough is a diagnostic concept in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Children often present with manifestations associated with bronchopneumonia due to pulmonary fever and cough. The manifestations are acute fever with a temperature up to 39°C or more, accompanied by coughing and coughing with yellow-purulent or white foamy sputum and symptoms of viral infection associated with malaise, wasting, night sweats and generalized aches and pains. The clinical examination of chest X-ray or chest CT, blood sedimentation, blood count and other related tests should be completed and the child’s condition should be further evaluated after the relevant test results are available. If necessary, medication should be given, such as anti-infective treatment for bacterial pneumonia and antiviral treatment with sensitive antiviral drugs for viral pneumonia.
