What are the advantages of Korean double eyelid surgery?

The number of patients undergoing cosmetic surgery is increasing, and blepharoplasty, the most common cosmetic surgery in the East, is also being performed more and more often. The traditional open blepharoplasty method takes a long time to reduce swelling, has an unnatural shape, and the incisions are easily noticed when the eyes are closed, so many patients who have had open blepharoplasty say that the open eyelids are “fake”. Suture eyelids are quick to swell and natural, but they are only suitable for patients with thin eyelids and can easily fall off. So is there a method that is quick to recover, natural, suitable for more than a few patients, and does not fall off easily? Three-point lid surgery is a great solution to this problem, as it was first popularized by Korean doctors, hence the name “Korean double eyelid”. The procedure involves making three 3mm incisions in the upper eyelid and closing them with 3 stitches to create the eyelid. Patients with thicker upper eyelids can also get good results because the same thick orbicularis muscle and upper lid fat tissue can be removed through small incisions. The swelling basically goes down 5 days after surgery and the stitches are removed in 7 days. Patients with canthus are better off having their eyes opened at the same time, so that not only is the eyelid shape more natural, but the eye enlargement effect is also more desirable. The patient in the picture, as we can see, has thick upper eyelid tissue, down-turned eyelashes, mild medial canthus, and short transverse and longitudinal eye fissures, which are typical of the Mongolian Oriental race of eyes. After the Korean three-point small incision blepharoplasty and canthoplasty, the eyes were significantly larger and the double eyelids were very natural. One month after surgery, when the patient closes her eyes, there are no often visible incisional scars, but there is still a slight reddening of the three small incisions, and after six months, these marks will become very concealed. The scar at the inner corner of the eye, on the other hand, is already largely invisible.
