Is it possible to have meningioma without surgery?

Meningiomas do not require surgical treatment in some cases, but the relevant indications must be strictly chosen to avoid adverse consequences caused by poor choice of indications. First of all, if the meningioma is relatively small, located in a non-essential functional area, and does not produce obvious clinical symptoms, and is only found during physical examination, without symptoms affecting daily life such as headache and dizziness, nausea and vomiting, it can be observed for 3-12 months first, but must be reviewed regularly, and if it increases significantly during the review period or if obvious clinical symptoms appear, surgery is required treatment. Secondly, for recurrent, intracranial base and cavernous sinus tumors, stereotactic radiosurgery, including gamma knife (Gamma knife), X knife and particle knife, is also available. For meningioma, early detection and treatment are recommended. Most meningiomas are benign tumors and can be cured with proper timing of surgery and early treatment; for malignant meningiomas, the maximum possible relief of clinical symptoms can be achieved to prolong the patient’s survival time.
