Patients with lumbar sprain cannot have sex. Lumbar sprain generally refers to acute lumbar sprain, which is an acute injury caused by a sudden excessive pulling of the muscles, ligaments and other soft tissues of the lumbar region by external forces or a sudden change in the posture of the lumbar region. After the occurrence of lumbar sprain, the muscles and soft tissues will have obvious congestion and edema, and severe patients may even have rupture of muscle fibers. Patients with lumbar sprains may experience significant pain and limitation of movement. When patients with lumbar sprain have sex, the change in position will pull the lumbar tissues and increase the load on the lumbar region, thus aggravating the pain and affecting the normal recovery of the lumbar tissues. Therefore, patients with lumbar sprain should not have sex. Patients with lumbar sprain should rest in bed, avoid bending and strenuous activities. Patients in the acute stage can apply local ice packs, thus relieving pain and inhibiting the production of inflammatory substances. When the pain is severe, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen can be used under the guidance of the doctor.
