Taking medication is generally not a treatment for lipomas. Lipoma is a benign body surface swelling, usually located under the skin, preferably in the trunk and limbs, and has clear boundaries, regular shape and good mobility. It is difficult to shrink or eliminate lipomas with medication. If the size of the lipoma is small and does not increase in size, it can be reviewed regularly. If the size of the lipoma is large, which affects the patient’s normal daily work and life, or if the lipoma shows a trend of gradual enlargement and is accompanied by local hidden pain and other uncomfortable symptoms, it is recommended to undergo surgical treatment, which is the only way to eradicate the lipoma. Therefore, taking medicine generally has no obvious effect on the lipoma that has already formed, and the only way to achieve the purpose of eradication is to remove it through surgery.
