What are the early signs of brain tumor?

Brain tumors can occur in various parts of the brain and have a wide variety of symptoms, but all are associated with damage to the nervous system. The causes of brain tumors are still not well understood, so there is still a gap to talk about their prevention. However, early detection and treatment can be sought. No matter the tumor is benign or malignant, it must not be allowed to develop, but must be controlled so as to minimize the damage to brain tissue and brain nerve function. This is also the more common treatment method for brain tumors. Therefore, the best way to deal with brain tumor is to find out the early signs of tumor and timely diagnosis and treatment. Early signs of brain tumor are: 1) Headache: This kind of headache often occurs at four or five o’clock in the morning, and often wakes up in the middle of sleep, the more asleep you are, the heavier the pain. After getting up and moving around, the headache will gradually reduce or even disappear by 8 or 9 o’clock, so it is called “morning headache”, which is a major sign unique to brain tumor. The mechanism of this “morning headache” is due to the partial obstruction of normal cerebrospinal fluid circulation caused by brain tumor, especially after sleeping, which results in transient hydrocephalus and severe headache and waking up with pain. After getting up and moving, the cerebrospinal fluid circulation can be accelerated, so that the headache can be relieved. 2) Jet vomiting: Compared with vomiting in gastrointestinal diseases, vomiting in brain tumor patients is not accompanied by stomach distention, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, and vomiting is not related to food intake. This is because the increased brain pressure stimulates the vomiting center in the medulla oblongata, so the characteristic jet vomiting occurs. In some children with brain tumors, the unexplained jet vomiting is often used as a criterion to determine the initial stage of the disease because they cannot express other symptoms. 3) Sudden onset of “jerking” (convulsions), which is a manifestation of seizures. In particular, the jerking starts from the corner of the mouth or one of the limbs, and then gradually becomes a generalized jerk. 4) Single eye protrusion: At the beginning of brain tumor formation, one eye protrudes forward, which is often an ominous sign of the disease. In these patients, the unilateral protrusion of the eyeball can lead to incomplete eyelid closure in severe cases. Clinical data show that about 50% of brain tumor patients with unilateral eye protrusion are caused by intracranial disorders, the most common cause of which is brain tumor. 5) Unilateral deafness: If there is no history of otitis media or trauma, only one side of the ear has gradually decreased hearing, which is also likely to be the result of intracranial tumor compressing the auditory nerve. 6) Hyperalgesia: The parietal lobe located in the middle of the cerebral hemisphere is specialized in sensation. A brain tumor in this area may cause the failure of various sensory organs in the opposite side of the body, resulting in the loss of sensation such as pain, heat and cold, touch, vibration and form discrimination. 7) Hemiplegia: Hemiplegia caused by brain tumor includes two different conditions: one is hemiplegia or hemiparesis, manifested by impaired movement of the limb on the diseased side; the other is ataxia of one limb, manifested by dumb or unstable movement. If these two symptoms appear slowly and are progressively aggravated, the former is mostly seen in cerebral hemisphere tumors and the latter is mostly seen in cerebellar hemisphere tumors. 8) Choking and coughing when entering water, unclear speech, inability to open the eyelids, double vision or difficulty in swallowing, etc.; 9) Unsteady walking, dizziness, inaccurate movements; 10) Numerous symptoms of endocrine disorders, such as hypertension, obesity, diabetes, male impotence, female amenorrhea or lactation, or enlarged hands and feet, obvious changes in appearance, etc.; 11) Changes in personality. People who used to be strict and conscientious in the past suddenly become sloppy, or make jokes and pranks, and do nothing all day long. There are many symptoms of brain tumor, each patient has different symptoms, and the same symptom can be manifested in different patients. The most important way to prevent and treat tumor is to enhance the awareness of “tumor prevention” and go to hospital for regular medical checkup.
