What are the new trends in the concept of holistic management to promote standardized breast cancer treatment?

First, Professor Jiang Zefei, Deputy Secretary General of the Executive Committee of the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology (CSCO) and Director of the Department of Breast Oncology of the Affiliated Hospital of the Academy of Military Medical Sciences (AMMS), gave a detailed lecture on the theme of “follow the guidelines, standardize medical treatment, sustain suppression, and manage the whole course of breast cancer”. He also talked about the development of CSCO Breast Cancer Summit and the progress of breast cancer management. As one of the important topics of CSCO Breast Cancer Summit, the “Breast Cancer Management Concept” advocates a long-term and systematic view of breast cancer treatment, which is based on standardized breast cancer treatment, emphasizes multidisciplinary collaboration, and runs through the whole process from diagnosis to recovery, from disease treatment, body reshaping, psychological rehabilitation, etc. It is based on the standardized treatment of breast cancer, emphasizing multidisciplinary collaboration and running through the whole process from diagnosis to recovery, helping breast cancer patients to fight the disease better and gain a new life from various aspects such as disease treatment, body reshaping and psychological recovery. Professor Jiang Zefei pointed out, “The whole management is to hope that patients can choose a reasonable means at a reasonable time. Our strategy is that those who can be cured must not fold, those who can strive for a cure must not slacken, and those who are less curable must not give up, which is our basic principle.” Then, Professor Ren Guosheng, President of the First Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, pointed out that the first element of the whole management of breast cancer is the time span, starting from diagnosis to treatment to rehabilitation is a whole process, also can be extended a little more, starting from prevention; the second element is multidisciplinary, for example, several of us are in one field, there are surgery and internal medicine; the third element is the core of breast diagnosis and treatment, standardization. Professor Liu Yinhua, director of the Center for Breast Diseases, Peking University First Hospital, said, “In the process of tumor treatment, there must be a continuous cognitive process, and constantly to regulate, we are not criticizing the history, but facing the past and looking to the future!” Prof. Wu Gui, Vice President of Cancer Hospital of Fudan University and Chief Physician of Breast Surgery, pointed out: In fact, we have to do the whole management, and there are still many disciplines in China with talent vacancies. Many of our hospitals do not have psychological counselors, there are no plastic surgeons in cancer hospitals, and there is a lack of professionals in genetic counseling, all of which are very important aspects that require us to build multidisciplinary teams. Professor Pang Da, Vice President of Harbin Medical University, pointed out that it is probably more important to train medical students, undergraduates, and general practitioners to establish the concept of holistic management and comprehensive treatment from the perspective of medical education in terms of discipline management.
