What you must know about CRT surgery

CRT technology, known as cardiac resynchronization therapy, is one of the greatest advances in the treatment of chronic heart failure in the last decade or so. The most significant manifestation of chronic heart failure in a significant number of patients is the uncoordinated electrical conduction and contraction between the left ventricle and the right ventricle, which is simply like a person walking with an uncoordinated left and right leg, resulting in a “limp”. The consequence of the same heart incoordination is a decrease in the heart’s ability to pump blood, i.e., panic, shortness of breath, and swelling. The CRT procedure is performed by installing a pacemaker in the diseased heart to restore the rhythm of the diseased ventricles to normal and coordinated operation, preventing the heart from “limping” and restoring heart function. This kind of pacing treatment for heart failure is recognized as a mature and effective treatment method both internationally and domestically, but not many cases have been successfully carried out in China. Zou has been performing CRT since 2005 and has performed hundreds of successful procedures to date.
