There are certain differences between common back pain and cancer pain, which can be analyzed in terms of etiology, pain degree and treatment means: I. Etiology 1. Common back pain: mostly caused by cold, physical labor or excessive exercise, as well as chronic inflammation and trauma, such as pain caused by lumbar muscle strain and herniated disc; 2. Cancer pain: as the name suggests, cancer pain, mostly caused by cancerous changes in tissues, organs, bones, etc. Most of the pain is caused by the destruction of tissues, organs and bones due to cancerous lesions. The pain is generally lighter and the pain area is more fixed, manifesting as radiating pain, sometimes accompanied by stiffness and soreness, which is tolerable and usually the primary lesion cannot be found through relevant examination means, which is obviously different from cancer pain; 2. Cancer pain: the pain will be more severe than ordinary back pain, which is generally progressively aggravated and may lead to pain to the point of difficulty in sleeping. Severe pain will occur in the advanced stage of cancer, making it unbearable for the patient and seriously affecting the quality of life. In addition, cancer pain can metastasize through the nervous system or spread to other parts of the body, and recurrent pain will occur. Cancer pain can detect the primary lesion, which cannot be relieved by applying the means of treating ordinary back pain. Common back pain can be relieved and controlled by rest, hot compress, physiotherapy or medication; 2. The effect of pain relief will be reduced because of drug resistance.
